Yes, we offer a free basic version that allows you to manage one team. For multiple teams and advanced features, we offer various paid subscriptions.

Yes, CoachBall is fully responsive and works perfectly on all devices, including smartphones and tablets. You can also install CoachBall as a web app by adding the website to your home screen. This gives you an app-like experience with quick access to CoachBall.

Adding CoachBall to your home screen:

For Apple devices (iPhone/iPad):

1. Open CoachBall in Safari (not in Chrome or other browsers)
2. Tap the share button at the bottom of the screen (square with arrow pointing up)
3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
4. Give the app a name (e.g., "CoachBall") and tap "Add"
5. You will now see a CoachBall icon on your home screen that you can use like a regular app

For Android devices:

1. Open CoachBall in Chrome (or another modern browser)
2. Tap the menu (three dots in the top right)
3. Select "Add to Home screen" or "Install app"
4. Confirm by tapping "Add"
5. You will now see a CoachBall icon on your home screen

After adding, CoachBall works exactly like a native app: you can open it from your home screen, it works offline where possible, and you receive push notifications (if enabled).

There is no limit to the number of players you can add to your team. You can also create and manage multiple teams within the same account.

Yes, you can grant multiple coaches and assistants different access levels, each with their own login credentials and permissions. In the team management section, you can assign multiple positions to each player and designate a primary position. This is then used for automatic lineup suggestions.

Yes, you can import game schedules from various formats (Excel, CSV) or manually add games.

The lineup generator uses player statistics, positions, and availability to suggest an optimal lineup. You can always adjust it manually.

We make daily backups of all data and also offer the option to manually back up your team data.

Scoring on your device is free and unlimited, without an account. Saving games on the server, sharing them and scoring together need a free CoachBall account and follow the plan limits of your workspace. Reaching a limit only pauses uploading and sharing, never scoring on your device. See the plans →

Yes, for scoring. Every pitch is saved on your device first. You need a connection to sync games, update the live page and stream. Offline and sync →

Not to start. With an account you save games on the server, share the live page, invite a second scorer and pick your players from CoachBall. It is the same account as on coachball.app. Link your account →

The app is made for phones and tablets. The store badges on the Score page show where you can download it today: Google Play for Android, and the App Store once the iPhone and iPad version is listed. Streaming to YouTube works in the Android app only for now.

Check the list of games of the team you are signed in with, and the finished games. Did you score without an account? Then the game is only on the device where you scored it. Sign in on that device to upload it. Still missing? Open the Help screen in the app, report a problem and include the game, so we can look into it.

Yes. Invite a second scorer for the team or the game with a link. More than one scorer can write to the same game. Roles and invitations →

You decide. Choose who can watch, share the link yourself and ask for a password if you like. Share the password in person or in a message, it is never sent with the link. Share a game live →

For youth teams the live page asks for a password by default and shows first names only. Only an owner, an administrator or a bench coach can switch that off for a youth team.

Yes, from the Android app to your own channel, with the score, inning, count and runners in the picture. Streaming from an iPhone or iPad is not available yet. Your channel needs live streaming enabled. Stream to YouTube →

The app has a switch-over helper for CSV exports with rosters and games. Imported games keep the final score and player stats, but not the pitch-by-pitch log.
