What are Benchmarks?

Benchmarks are athletic performance standards organized by sport, age group, and metric. They provide a reference point to evaluate player development and identify areas for improvement.

Filtering

Use filters to find the most relevant benchmarks. Your filter selections are saved for your next visit.

Age Group

Filter by age range to see standards appropriate for your players.

Sport

Choose between baseball and softball benchmarks.

Metric

Select a specific performance metric like exit velocity, sprint speed, or pitch velocity.

Available Metrics

Benchmarks are available for the following performance metrics.

Exit Velocity

Ball speed off the bat, measured in mph. A key indicator of hitting power.

Pitch Velocity

Throwing speed for pitchers, measured in mph.

Sprint Speed

60-yard dash time, measuring overall speed and acceleration.

Pop Time

Time from pitch hitting the catcher's mitt to the ball reaching second base. Key metric for catchers.

Data Sources

Benchmarks are built from real aggregate data collected through the platform. When insufficient real data is available for a specific age/metric combination, carefully curated fallback data is used.
